Marshall Wrist Update

From Sportsoverdose.com
Kendall Marshall who had surgery to have a screw inserted into his fractured right wrist on Monday morning had the cast removed and the wrist is now in a removable splint.  Marshall said to Insidecarolina.com he is getting better everyday and is day to day, but if the jump ball was right now he would not play. Marshall also said that the main factors in him playing will be pain and range of motion. Roy Williams has said several times since the injury that he does not expect Marshall to play and is preparing accordingly.  It seems that Ohio head coach John Groce is taking a different approach and says his team is preparing for Carolina as if Marshall were playing and he has a contingency plan if Marshall does not suit up for the Sweet 16 match up on Friday night in St. Louis.  Regardless of who is starting for the Tar Heels on Friday their is no doubt that the health of Kendall Marshall will be a top story as well as how the Heels will handle the pressure of the Ohio guards without him on the floor should he not play.  But if you ask me, do not be surprised to see a more focused and defensively intense Carolina squad tomorrow night than we have seen all season.  Either way a this should be another fun weekend of NCAA Tournament basketball.
